CRISIS RESPONSE GUIDE 1. The first person to know about a potential crisis should contact 9-1-1 and then the BC Games Intake Line (250-387-1121) . The role of the BC Games Intake Line is as follows: o Using Appendix D as a guide, BC Games Intake Line staff will document every call they receive. o All media and family inquiries will be directed to the Intake Line once the crisis has been identified. BC Games Intake Line staff will document inquiries and forward to the BC Games Communications Manager and BC Games Society President and CEO as necessary. 2. BC Games Intake Line staff will alert the BC Games Society President and CEO . o The BC Games Society President and CEO is the primary crisis manager and spokesperson. All communication to the public and media will flow through them. 3. The BC Games Society President and CEO will assemble the Crisis Management Team , who will determine a location for a meeting and assemble immediately. o Using Appendix A as a guide, the team will (a) assess situation; (b) work with the Crisis Communications Team to develop messaging; (c) disseminate information to stakeholders. o Members : BC Games Society President and CEO; BC Games Society Manager(s); BC Games Society Communications Manager; Host Society President/Vice President; member(s) of the Host Society board as required by the situation. 4. The BC Games Communications Manager will bring together the Crisis Communications Team. o Using Appendices B and C as guides, the team will assess the level of response needed and draft appropriate communications materials and determine distribution. o Members: BC Games Society Communications Manager; BC Games Society Manager(s); Host Society representatives as deemed appropriate for the situation.
