Constitution of BC Games Society

The name of the Society is “BC Games Society”. The purposes of the Society are:

1. To carry out the BC Summer and BC Winter Games, and other selected provincial multi sport Games. 2. To prepare Team BC for national multi-sport Games. 3. To share the spirit of the Games with British Columbians of all regions of the province. 4. To provide opportunities for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition in multi-sport events. 5. To promote interest and participation in sport, individual achievement, and community development through multi-sport events. 6. To motivate British Columbians to achieve higher levels of fitness and physical well-being through participation in amateur sport and physical activity. 7. To encourage and motivate athletes, coaches, and officials to attain a higher level of skill and competitive achievement. 8. To organize competitive multi-sport opportunities that will serve as preparation for higher level competition and play an integral role in the BC sport delivery system. 9. To provide communities with hosting opportunities that leave a legacy of experienced volunteers, sport development, and facility improvements. 10. To create opportunities for future sport event hosting by building capacity in communities around the province. 11. To celebrate community through hosting the Games. 12. To inspire to utilize the skills and experiences gained by volunteering for other community events. 13. To recognize and acknowledge the achievements and commitments of participants, alumni, and volunteers.
