Board Orientation Manual 2024
Exit Interviews For voluntary resignations from the BC Games Society, staff members may be asked to participate in an exit interview prior to their last day. Exit interviews are important to identify any factors that may have contributed to the staff member’s decision to leave the BC Games Society, any trends requiring attention, or any opportunities for the BC Games Society to improve on in the future. Exceptions may include temporary or contract staff members and staff members terminated involuntarily. Participation in an exit interview is voluntary and confidential. If a staff member chooses to participate in an exit interview, they are encouraged to be honest and constructive in their responses. Return of Property Upon termination or resignation of employment for any reason, all items created or used during a staff member’s employment, or provided by the BC Games Society, including (but not limited to) computers, phones, reports, files, manuals, confidential information, or other materials will remain the sole property of the BC Games Society and must be returned immediately, in good condition. References On occasion, BC Games Society will receive requests for references for current or former staff members from individuals or company representatives outside of (and unaffiliated with) BC Games Society. When this occurs, BC Games Society will provide information honestly and openly in the representation of the staff member’s time with BC Games Society. Staff members are encouraged to seek permission of the person they are listing as a reference prior to providing their name as a reference. BC Games Society staff members who are asked to act as a reference are required to indicate that they are not speaking on behalf of BC Games Society but are expressing their own thoughts and opinions when answering questions during a reference check.
