6. Monitor the Situation

During and after the crisis the CCT should monitor the situation: • Review Crisis Coverage

o Review media outlets that have enquired about the situation o Review media coverage o Conduct online searches for keywords for any further coverage o Monitor social media

• Identify Story Trends

o What is the main focus for the media? Is the focus changing? o Are there patterns that indicate messaging should be changing or further areas of response? • Identify public and key stakeholder issues o What are the major issues being addressed through the media? o What questions or concerns are being posed? 7. Evaluate • Immediately after the crisis, review all communication platforms for any updates (website statements, social media updates, phone numbers, voicemail messages, etc.). • Determine if any organizations or individuals should be recognized for action during the crisis. • Evaluate the implementation of the plan and revise plan as needed to assist in planning for future situations.
