Board Orientation Manual 2024
Each Directorate Volunteer Management Chair (one for each Directorate)
The Volunteer Management Chair (one in each of the 14 Directorates) will work within their Directorate and also sit as a member of a separate group of Volunteer Management Chairs (one from each Directorate) coordinated by the Volunteer Registration Chair (Participant & Volunteer Services). Within their Directorate, the Volunteer Management Chair is essentially the Human Resources lead. In this capacity the Volunteer Management Chair will ensure that initial contact is made with other volunteers who have identified that that they want to work in their Directorate and will arrange for assignment of those volunteers into one of the Directorate Chair areas. They support their Directorate Chairs to ensure ongoing contact and communication is maintained with the volunteers assigned to their Directorate. As a member of the Volunteer Management Chair Committee, they will discuss and assist with volunteer recruitment strategies (i.e. staff volunteer registration booths at community functions, distribute posters, etc.).
