Projects for the 2024 BC Winter Games totalled $49,998: Troll Ski Resort - $8,000

Commissioned off-season earthmoving work to build the base for a permanent slopestyle terrain park to host freestyle and snowboarding slopestyle competitions. Freestyle BC - $4,000 Funding to support NCCP coaching course, officials’ development, and club governance Acquisition of a high-end Judo roll-out mat that will be a legacy to the Kokoro Judo Club. Four-way funding from the BC Games Society, the host society, Judo BC, and the Kokoro Judo Club. Karate BC - Nechako Karate Club (PG) - $6,000 Acquisition of a high-end puzzle-piece Karate mat that will be a legacy to the Nechako Karate Club. Four-way funding from the BC Games Society, the host society, Karate BC, and the Nechako Karata Club. Cariboo Ski Touring Club (Biathlon) - $5,000 Partial funding to contribute to extensive biathlon range upgrades at Hallis Lake Cross Country Skiing Facility. The project involved building a concrete truss roof structure over the shooting platforms, installation of permanent shooting targets, lighting the range for evening sessions, and enhancements to shooting platforms. Quesnel Techniques Gymnastics Club - $2,500 Funding to help the club deliver NCCP coaching courses. viaSport Coach Mento Program - $3,148 Pre-Games in-person coaching development retreat. Quesnel Curling Club - $4,850 Funding to help the Quesnel Curling Club complete the elevator certification and to support the facility accessibility upgrade. City of Quesnel - Arts and Recreation Centre - $10,000 Acquisition of a 'Wibit' pool play equipment to enhance the participant experience and use of the Arts and Recreation Centre. c) Sponsorship Opportunities (verbal) Alison outlined that committee of her, Mindy and Niki have met to look to ways to diversify funding for the Society. d) Software Development Caorda, the contractor, is on schedule and moving forward with the software development. While the first testing is not scheduled until the fall of 2024, they will likely have some elements for us to review sooner than that. The fee collection process that will be incorporated into the software specifically for the BC Seniors Games Society has taken some time to sort through. There were differing opinions on the part of their society as to how this should work that they had to sort through. We were just able to finalize these details this past week, allowing the contractor to move forward with development. start-up to establish a new Troll Freestyle and Snowboard Club. Judo BC - Kokoro Judo Club (100 Mile House) - $6,500

A meeting was held with Caorda in December to look at options for volunteer scheduling, which was included in the plan but not fully detailed. We will have information on this soon and can make decisions on how to proceed.
