Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games (held in 2023) distributed their $227,000 of Legacy Fund to 28 local sport and cultural organizations. Prince George is in the process of disbursing $181,000 throughout their community. • Team BC is in a rebuilding phase with the successful staging of both Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games and PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games within six months of each other. Planning for St. John’s 2025 Canada Summer Games is beginning. • Our Powering Potential Fund continues to serve host communities well with small infrastructure grants that leave meaningful legacies in the community as well as our Leadership Awards for participants. • Budget challenges continue to impact the Society with increasing costs and static operating grants. The provision of year end funding has allowed for some relief from cost pressures in current fiscal however, the challenge remains for the future. • Pamela’s six-year term comes to an end and we bid her farewell. Pamela’s insight, as an Olympic athlete and an educator, has brought good dialogue to both the Sport Committee and the Board table. Thank you, Pamela, for your service.
